Gloria Medel was one of the club's earliest instructors dating back to the 1990s. She was the Dance Director for CWCJC for several years and is well known on the dance convention circuit as an excellent and fun teacher. Since 1998, Gloria has given workshops in Nashville, Gatlinburg, Louisville, St. Louis, Columbus, Cincinnati, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Memphis, Cleveland and Chicago for both the CWCJC's Sweet Home Chicago and our own Chi-Town Boogie. She will be teaching a class called East Side/West Side. See below for further information and to download the flyer.
East meets West in a new class being offered in September. Nationally known instructor Gloria Medel will teach East Side/West Side. Classes will focus on more complex patterns and adaptability to blend together techniques of the different swing dances to open up the students' dance world. Also, Rich Cooper and Judy Leslie will teach L.A. Hustle 1 and West Coast Swing 1 /6-Count patterns. Download the flyer or for more details or call Celeste at 630-852-5287.
Theme dances are a big part of club activities. Get creative and help make every dance memorable! Join us August 14 for Beachcomber/Luau Night. Up next on August 28 is the club Ice Cream Social. Then our annual Black & White dance is September 11. See you on the Elk's beautifrul solid wood dance floor. Dancing at the Elk's Lodge starts at 8:00 pm. A $2.00 discount off the regular $7.00 admission price is being offered to members of the Chicago Jitterbug Club and any of its sister clubs at the privately run, Midweek Dance Break. Show your membership card at the door to take advantage of the special price. DJ Party Doll will be playing Ballroom, East Coast Swing, (Slow) Hustle and West Coast Swing on the first and third Wednesday nights at the Elks Lodge, 4428 Midlothian Turnpike.
